World Diabetes Day celebrated by UOMMSS on 12th of November

Finaly!!!!!!! Here are some footage from the WDD of last month at the Paul Octave Wiehe Auditorium, University of Mauritius... Most of the videos are unedited as they contain a lot of info and I personally find some scenes amusing and I don't want you, the world, to miss a bit of it.

World Diabetes Day by UOMMSS on 12th November

I'm just dropping in a word to thank all of you who have participated actively in the World Diabetes Day organised by the UOMMSS on Monday 12. It was an immense success where more than 300 students of the university came in for screening and where the talks and quiz sections were particularly appraised.

Thanks again. I will try to post some pics and vids soon.

Diabetes: Reduit campus join in awareness campaign

The international WDD was on the 14th November where the president of UOMMSS and his most loyal members, including me, participated in a "walk for the combat against diabetes" organised by the Mauritius Diabetes Association from the University of Mauritius to the State House (where the president of the republic of Mauritius usually meets eminent people.)

Notice For Upcoming World Diabetes Day

On the 12th of November 2007, the uommss is organizing the World Diabetes Day in the Paul Octave Wiehe Auditorium as from 10.00. This will be a national event targeting mainly students of tertiary institutions in which the main message that we aim to pass is prevention of diabetes through sensitization and screening as from a young age...

I am not going to give any more details at the moment, but this will follow, be assured...

Bring And Buy

Tomorrow, the 29th of October 2007, the University of Mauritius Medical Students Society is organizing a "Bring and Buy" at the university itself, in the cubicle near the stairs down from the Faculty of Agriculture (the stone building)...

We hope that it will be a success as the funds that we will manage to scrap into our piggy bank will be used for future activities in the name of the society that will benefit the campus in a great way (e.g we are planning to do a lot of stuff that will benefit also other tertiary institutions, like the SSR Medical School, L'Ecole Hoteliere, the UTM etc on the occasion of the World Diabetes day on the 12th of November)

May I also make notice that Medical Science students also participated actively in the national screening programme organised at the Trianon Shopping Park on the 30th of September, in association with the Heart Network of Mauritius, for the World Heart Day.

[I, a year 3 medical student, personally stayed on my feet 3 hours in a row to channel people to the various tables for screening and..euh.. ok forget it.]

A la camera, c'est Stone (le fou)... Dans la video, la fille drague le garcon... MDR (surtout quand Stone tombe)!!!! Ne vous forcez pas trop pour entendre car moi-meme j'y comprend rien..
